Yoma to lead private sector charge in anti-malaria fight

Yoma Strategic Holdings will lead a private-sector campaign to raise awareness about malaria elimination in Myanmar, said Melvyn Pun, the company’s chief executive officer.

The campaign, called M2030, is a regional movement that aims to accelerate progress against malaria and eliminate the disease in the region by 2030.

Pun was at the Malaria Summit in London in April to help launch M2030 with the Global Fund’s Executive Director Peter Sands.

M2030 was started by the Asia-Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance of 23 Asia-Pacific heads of government. It aims to mobilise prominent business leaders as champions and advocates in the fight against malaria.
